2. Imagine a Place on Koh Samui

Imagine a place where time stands still, where privacy plays a major role in your life, where you can connect with nature itself and think about your highest priorities. Welcome to Koh Samui, Thailand. I’m Ollie – Siam Villas, and this is Villa Akoya. We’re located in this island’s serene south, but just 5 minutes from all the central services, entertainment, and international schools koh Samui. Today, I’m going to show you why this might be the perfect villa available on the island today.

3. A Villa Integrated with Nature

So, we chose this villa today because everything is perfectly incorporated into the environment. We live on this beautiful island because of the nature, so why not live in a house that is a perfectly integrated part of the landscape? Everything from the keystone walls, the wood finish, and the grand wood doors—it’s truly a part of the landscape. But wait, wait! Before you come in, let’s take another look at this huge natural wooden front door leading into this foyer. Here, we have completely natural stone floors—none of the tiles we see so often in villas in Thailand. We have high ceilings, lots of natural light, and floor-to-ceiling windows that are flush with the ceiling—no big header, just a complete maximization of the space. To my left, we have the living room leading into the pool area; to my right, we have the three guest bedrooms. But before we go to either one, I have to show you the star of the show—the main focal point of this villa—which is the terrace. Absolutely unbelievable! There’s so much space here and so few extraneous details or unnecessary furniture to distract you from the real focal point, which, again, is this unbelievable view.

4. Four Bedroom Villa for Sale

I need to show you back into the bedrooms. As I mentioned before, you can access all of these guest bedrooms from inside the villa, but you also have access directly from this terrace. All of these bedrooms have big glass sliding doors, including the bathrooms as well, that lead you directly back out onto this terrace. Okay, wait, wait, wait—come over here, just over here. Look at this. Can you imagine? Okay, it’s a bathroom—it has a sink, a toilet, a shower, lots of natural stone, but this sea view! Can you imagine a bathroom with all this and this view?

5. Ventilation and Comfort Features

A few more very important details: a common problem that we have in a lot of villas in Thailand is those AC units just built into the wall—they’re very noisy and don’t work very well. You’ll notice that every room has this ventilation system built directly into the ceiling. If you don’t like air conditioning, you can opt not to use these and instead use one of the ceiling fans built into every room in this house. As for storage, you have these huge wardrobes; you could bring your whole closet if you wanted to. You might not wear it, but you could if you wanted. Next, you have this huge bed—well, there’s no TV, but who needs it when you have a view like this? Follow me!

6. The Hallway and Bedrooms

You’ll notice we’re back in this hallway connected to the entrance again. These three en-suite bedrooms are identical to each other, and all of them have access to this hallway as well as the terrace, which is very convenient, especially if you have kids. You can see this glass just separating from this rock—that’s a brilliant touch, a real metaphor for how close you are to nature in this villa. Now, this hallway leads to two large storage areas. You can see inside here everything you need and even another ceiling fan. We have one more identical storage area over here. But if you’re not yet sold on whether or not you’d want to buy this villa, allow me to show you the cherry on the cake. I have a feeling this downstairs living room might be the offer you can’t refuse.

7. The Downstairs Living Room

As you can see, as I come down these stairs—they’re so wide and have this great lighting effect that makes them almost appear like they’re floating. There are two really important things about this living room, and it’s a big theme of this villa. Number one is state-of-the-art technology. You can see here, just like in every other room, we have wall-to-wall ventilation systems hidden within the ceiling. If you look over here, we have a state-of-the-art kitchen. Over here, we have different appliances, and we even have this hood unit built into the wall so you can’t bang your head on it—that’s pretty smart. See here, we have this wine cabinet; you can just imagine having all this wine available for dinner at this table or maybe for sundown drinks over here. Over here, we have this huge wood table; you can see it’s a slab board—all one giant piece. And this is theme two—all of these colors come together gracefully. All of this natural wood, soft browns, and stone—nothing distracts you from the view.

8. Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Transition

Here, you can see how everything is blended together, creating a perfect transition from inside to outside, sort of blurring the line between the two with these giant glass sliding doors. From the floor to the ceiling, you can completely close off this living area, protecting you from the elements, or leave it wide open, letting the breeze from the ocean flow right into the living area. You can see over here how so many details were considered to integrate all these natural features. You can see how even this sort of rock is built right into the railing and the walkway. And wow, look at that! I mean, this rock is built right into the wall—now this is not just a feature. Over here, you can see how this rock is part of the hill. How many times have you seen a rock built into a wall like this? Really, comment if you’ve ever seen a wall built like this. It serves as a perfect backdrop for this al fresco dining area, this nice table, a barbecue on wheels, and this very unique bathroom—come take a look. Oh, you’re going to want to see this! This rock continues directly into this bathroom—come on, take a look!

10. Master Bedroom and Modern Design

To our left, we have the master bedroom. First, notice the transition to these parquet floors. Plus, we have this cabinet built in Japanese style, a huge mirror, and a very modern bathroom with this massive bathtub, dual sinks, lots of natural light, and you can see how all of this stone has no lines or grout work—it’s all smooth and seamlessly transitioned. Again, a real theme of this villa. Next, follow me to this bedroom. Can you imagine starting your day like this? Unbelievable!
